This all sounds great! The Fresno Business Journal posted an article today mentioning all of the above! We here at PLATE Fresno are super excited to see our awesome city getting help with bringing fresh, local produce to areas of town without access, helping kids, growers, markets and our county!

Excerpt from the Business Journal article:

Fresno is among 27 communities selected for the program and the first California city chosen. Participation will allow the city to receive technical assistance to increase economic opportunities for local farmers and businesses, create vibrant places and promote childhood wellness by improving access to healthy local food. 

According to a statement on the project, the initiative will help establish a Downtown Fresno Public Market along the Fulton Mall. The facility will serve as an anchor tenant and leverage existing resources to provide local food access and attract residents and visitors.
